Wireless-PC Ip address and default gateway in diffrent net.

Hello,
I have problem in wireless network.
I configured WLC and evrything works, but i dont why ?
My laptop has IP address 192.168.60.207 and default gateway is 10.30.204.35.
For my knowledge the default gateway and laptop sholud be in the same IPv4 network (in wired networks).
The PC has access to the internet.
On WLC when i configured DHCP serwer i set default gateway as Mobility Express Contoller - that has IP address 10.30.204.35.
I suppose does WLC doing NAT by default from network 192.168.60.0/24 to his WAN interface adress 10.30.204.35.
When I try this on wired network it dosesnt work, i even can't ping default gateway. (My laptop has IP address 192.168.60.207 and default gateway is 10.30.204.35).
ARP entries for default gateway are good for wirded and wireless netoworks.

On my phone (connected to this Wi-Fi) it is identical situation.

Why is it working on wireless network?

Why? They must all be on the same subnet (which looks like it should be 192.168.60.0/24)! ME only supports flexconnect local switching. It's working probably because the ME has sent ICMP redirect to the correct gateway or one of them is doing proxy arp.

Why I did that strange things (configure default gateway in another IP network) ?
I am new in wireless and I was testing eqipment and configuration (a little network fun :D).
Thank you for Your answer. I think its correct. (It's working probably because the ME has sent ICMP redirect to the correct gateway or one of them is doing proxy arp.)
When I have a bit of free time I check it. I will propabbly use Wireshark and some debug commands to chceck It.
