Refer" Assigning Tags" section from the Best practices link below.

CSV file should have the following columns.
AP MAC Address*, Policy Tag Name, Site Tag Name, RF Tag Name
(*Mandatory)

Adding new APs using this method will not overwrite the existing AP Tags.

Once you assign the Tags make sure to validate the config using "wireless config validate" command.

Hello All,

Could someone please share me the csv file format that is used in location feature which I can use to assign tags to APs using access point MAC address.

Please also share how I can add more access point to this newly created location later using both CSV or manual MAC address addition without causing the existing AP in the location to flap capwap tunnel or lose the tags. Do I have to add both new APs and the existing APs in the location csv fill if I want to add new APs to existing location?

I have to perform this activity urgently and I don’t want the existing Access Point in the location to restart capwap or lose tags upon addition of new Access Points to that location.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

We use AP Filter option.

The APs will take the tags based on the name prefix of the AP.
