If you go back far enough in the past, there was a time when k9 (strong crypto) IOS images were not delivered to prohibited countries (or certain individuals within non-prohibited countries) in compliance with USA law. IOS images with weak crypto were permitted. I believe k9 restrictions have not been in effect for some time, with all products (containing strong crypto or not) being entirely prohibited from USA embargoed/sanctioned countries.

Different countries have different rules. This means that if i buy an AP meant for the US and I deploy it to, say, Japan, do not expect all radios/channels/power to be enabled.

how about security/encryption? is there any differences for Cisco code?
