Hi folks.

I had a call with the AccelTex and it seems they are right now running out of 4 lead antenna.
So, their RF Antenna Design team advised that the answer is YES, we can use the 6-lead antenna in the meantime with unnoticeable difference.
Their comments below:

"Yes, you can use the 6-element model and leave two leads disconnected. Best practice would be to have the two unenergized/disconnected elements be the two outside cables. This has the most physical separation amongst the elements and is simple to tell installers."

Thank you, all!

4 vs 6 Antenna Leads - 9120AXE

Hi All.

I have a question about two different AccelTex types of antennas.

Wireless design phase stated that we should use this: ATS-OP-245-8-4RPTP-36

However, we only have this one model available in our stock: ATS-OP-245-8-6RPTP-36

Therefore, antenna gain is the same, connector RP-TNC is the same... however, the number of antenna leads to be used is actually 4.

But, by using the one below with 6 leads, 2 leads would be left unconnected.

In my opinion, there shouldn't be any issue but really wanted advices or tips to confirm my thought because we are using 9120AXE with only 4-port anyways.

Can anyone help me with that?

Thank you!

Personally i would not suggest that, for better outcome use correct product always suggested.

I doubt ATS-OP-245-8-6RPTP-36 is supported to use with Cisco C9120AXE.

I would check with Acceltex sales support "sales@acceltex.com" before using these antennas.

Thanks @balaji.bandi , we usually use AccelTex models and never faced any issues with that.

My concern is more about the fact of having 2 leads unconnected. But, theoretically, I don't think it should affect something.

Well, there is an existing difference between these 2 antenna models that I mentioned, that is, the horizontal beamwidth between them has slight value difference, but nothing that would have great impact on the design.

It all depends on the antenna design. In some, it may reduce the antenna performance and some may not work as expected.

In your case, I believe you'll see degraded performance with only 4 leads instead of provided 6.

The Antenna page from Acceltex shows only the following APs are compatible.
