Difference between bundle mode and install mode on WLC upgrade?
What is recommended while upgrading the 9800-80 WLC?

is there any difference in features or any other factor between the modes?

- There are no differences in features once the 9800-80 is running , but install mode is more optimal as
the exec functionality is distributed amongst packages , whilst in bundle mode you have a monolithic large
bin file to boot.
So install mode is prefered

Appendix : Consider this procedure mandatory for optimal use of your 9800-80 controller's (configuration) ; use the
CLI command show tech wireless and feed the output from that into Wireless Config Analyzer
use the full command as denoted in green , do not use a simple show tech as input for this procedure
It is also advised to do this after an upgrade (e.g.)!!

@Sam Caprio hi, there is no feature difference between these modes. install mode is preferred by cisco due to efficient functionality.

The most important difference (in my opinion) is that you can only install SMU and APSP when running in install mode.

Install mode is the Cisco recommended mode. Bundle mode is usually only used in recovery situations.
