"Network Interfaces" isn't showing on the web interface Cisco Aironet

I'm using a few Cisco Aironet 1142 ap's in my house configured with autonomous images.

The firmware version I have is c1140-k9w7-xx.153-3.JD17.

The problem I am running into is there is nothing at all under Network Interfaces on 3 of these ap's.

One shows the GigabitEthernet, Radio0-802.11N2.4GHz, and Radio1-802.11N5GHz.

I'm nearly certain all of them used to show these interfaces.

The 3 that do not show these are working properly.

Any direction someone could point me to so I could solve this would be apprciated.

I know these are old and EOL but they are working well other than this hiccup.

If GigabitEthernet is present, then BVI should also be around.

I do not see BVI on the GUI. I do see it if I look at the config file.

Here is what I see on one of the ap's:

However, on the other ap's all I see under Network Interfaces:

I do not see any differences in the configuration between these two access points that would explain this behavior.

Console into the AP and enter the command "sh ip interface brief".

This is very interesting.

This is most definitely related to turning the radios ON.

I had ONE ap that I had not turned the radios ON yet. That's the screenshot I shared above where the 2 radio interfaces were showing on the HOME screen.

Now those have disappeared as well! Just like 3 other ap's that are running, now none of them are showing the interfaces on the HOME screen.

This screen shows if the interfaces are up or down at a glance so it's fairly useful to have it available.

I didn't do anything to make it disappear other than turn the radios on.

It's odd they were there when I first flashed the autonomous image until I activated the radios. Then they disappeared.

I do not have an active Cisco account so I cannot simply log in and download software.

I do not have the ability to use a WLC because these ap's are not licensed.

I'm using c1140-k9w7-xx.153-3.JD17. Would a different version of the firmware not have this issue?

If so I could probably search for it.

I dont believe the radio interfaces will come up unless there is an SSID assigned to them
look at this blog on setting up an attonomous AP (although for site survey it follows same principle)

Thanks for the link. I'll look it over.

The interfaces both have SSID's assigned to them.

The "Home" screen did show the status of the radio's:

And they were visible until I turned the radio ON.

After that the status disappeared. It looks like this now:

I have no idea why it changed.

If I "view frame source" the HTML code is there but it's not visible on the screen.

I'm learning more and more about the CLI but I really don't want to have to ssh into the ap just to see the radio status. It's much more convenient to be able be able see it on the GUI.

The autonomous AP GUI was notoriously riddled with bugs, some of which never got fixed (it clearly wasn't a high priority for Cisco because they expected people to use controllers).
We only ever used CLI for them because you couldn't rely on the GUI at all.
You're already on the last release of code for those APs: 15.3.3-JD17 (equivalent to WLC version 8.3.150.0 which was the last version it was supported in) so there is nothing newer to be found or downloaded.

Like Leo says get used to using CLI if you want to keep using these antiques or get used to the buggy GUI ...
Did you try rebooting them?

It's very likely I'll resort to this.

It's also very likely I'll be using them a lot less.

Christmas visited me with a Unifi Express.

I've powered down my existing WiFi solution for the Unifi. I've also powered down all of the Cisco ap's so as not to interfere with the Unifi until I get it all configured.

Then I'll probably go back to toying around with the Cisco units.

I'm just teaching myself Cisco stuff so the CLI is probably the best anyway.

There's little value in learning autonomous AP IOS now because they're all past end of support.
The new generation of APs run a different (Linux based) operating system AP-COS and are all controller based (or Meraki cloud) so if you want to learn Cisco wireless that's what you should be looking at.
