I'm wondering what is AP clear mode in EWC.

Does anyone have a understanding this?

The EWC help page (remember that is available in the GUI <wink>) says:
Clear: Returns the AP back to client-serving mode, for example the local mode or flexconnect mode depending on the remote site tag configuration.

So it's not actually a "mode" - it's for resetting the AP mode back to default.

No it's not a mode. Just like what @Rich R mentioned, its basically resetting the ap per say back to default without removing it from the network.
