Just to add... since you are using built-in directional antennas, might be a regulatory domain that is preventing the channels you want. Compare with others that are using those channels you want and look at the tx power along with the antenna gain that is being detected.

Cisco C9124AXD-E APs no able to use channels 36-64

Hello Everyone!

I need some thoghts / Help with a weird situation I encoutered today.

I configured an RF-Tag to have only channels 36-56 (as requested from the client) and deployed it via DNAC. ALL APs are using the correct profile but there are APs that still use channels higher than 56. Then I configured the DCA Profile globaly and waited for the next DCA check/scann.

Still the APs use channels Higher than 36-56. I then tried to configure the Channels locally on the AP but I dont have any option lower than Channel 100.

I rebooted one of the APs to make sure there was not a software issue, but after the reboot, I still dont have channels lower than 100. The AP model is C9124AXD-E.

Does anyone have any Idea why this is happening?

Thanks in advanced!!

1. What software version?

2. What regulatory domain and country?

Refer to https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/ios-nx-os-software/ios-xe-17/products-technical-reference-list.html
Locate the most relevant sheet for your version - for example:

Detailed Channels and Maximum Power Settings for Cisco Catalyst Wireless 9124AXD Outdoor Access Points, Release 17.15.2 (XLSX - 13 MB) 03/Dec/2024

Then locate the 5G-E tab for your country (according to country to tab mapping) and then take note of the Allowed channels.
Chances are you'll find the channels in question are not allowed in your country (that's a government regulation thing, not Cisco choice, and it would be illegal to use channels which are not allowed)

I assume that the WLC/AP recognise that the RF profile is invalid (because it only has non-allowed channels) so ignores the DCA config and reverts to default.
