Hello,

I have a question about using an access point for outside.

Our supplier suggested the model C9124AXI-E and it was also purchased. However, this is not to the liking of our architect because the device stands out against a black wall covering.

According to technical specifications, the device should be hung between 2.5 and 3 meters high.
Would this device also radiate if I place it under a floating floor?

I assume that these are natural tiles resting on a plastic base.

If I mount an AP under a tile, and place a table directly on top of it, would the signal be sufficient to work there on a laptop?

- You should test the intended setup first, and check if the AP remains useable in that place.
I fear that the wireless signal will be hampered , not only for the AP, but also from the sending clients,

Use a non-metallic paint and paint the AP black.

Thank you for your response Leo, but that is not the question.
Even if I paint over the AP, it remains a bulky thing that the architect does not want to hang on his facade.
The question was whether the AP would work in a floating floor.

The answer depends on what, exactly, is the material used for the floating floor. "Tiles"? What, exactly, is the material to make the tiles?

There are various floor-mounted AP enclosures available.

I understand that the materials used can influence the way the AP radiates. I do not have these specifications yet. Because this apparently cannot be determined correctly, it seems to me that the only solution is to try it. I'll have a cable installed under the floor, and then we'll see what we can do with it.
