Hello Team,

This may be a basic question, but I would kindly like clarification. If I currently have an older WLC 2500 and wish to migrate to CBW for a small business environment, where the existing WLC has three interfaces configured under the controller tab for specific SSIDs, would it be appropriate to migrate to CBW and simply tag the VLANs, given that CBW does not allow interface configuration? Similarly, in the case of migrating to a 9115AXI-WLC, would it also be sufficient to use the standard profiles and VLAN tagging without configuring actual interfaces?

Hi Mark

I would choose that option, but when I reviewed the settings, it seemed straightforward. Traffic can be locally switched, and the WLC can simply map the VLAN on the CBW or even on the 9115-AXI, at least as I understand it. I don’t think there’s any need to configure interfaces, even though they currently exist on the old WLC.
