Hi Community,

What could cause the error in the subject? I observed that my network is poor rating 79%. I am wondering why the connectivity on wireless network shows poor. Yet users didn't complain much.

The error message typically indicates an issue with the 802.1X authentication process, specifically during the 4-way handshake used in WPA2 and WPA3 security protocols.

In this case I suggest you open a support case.

Is your Wifi card Intel? If so it may be a known issue when 802.11r is enabled, disabling it should solve your problem.

My understanding of the error is that it's in relation to corrupt of unexpected packets during the EAPOL 4-way handshake between the WAP and the RADIUS server. This could be anything from drops, discards or error on ports between the WAP and RADIUS server to firmware bugs etc.

I'd suggest working with Meraki support on this.

Additionally, understanding how many WAP's are impacted and if there's any commonality between those that are impacted (Eg. same switch, same firmware, same model) will help with the troubleshooting.

Try upgrading the WiFi drivers on the devices having the issue. It is often a buggy driver issue.
