I've got to hide some access points in plain site.

Anyone out there ever tried painting or wallpapering an access point to blend into the room?

Any other suggestions for how to hide access points in plain sight so they still work in high end residential or very formal public spaces?

I probably wouldn't paint an access point as it will likely void the warranty on it. The skins mentioned or any vinyl covering work be OK I'm sure.

Definitely paint the vanity cover with a non-metallic paint and not the AP's radome.

https://oberoninc.com/solution-finder/?fwp_ap_vendor=meraki&fwp_products_mount_location=ap-vanity-covers

It is super possible to hide them in plain site. However the cost of doing this varies wildly depending on how crazy the aesthetic police are.

Hi @MCain1 while painting does void the warranty, I have had customers use the proper non-metallic paint with success, but tend to go more towards vinyl wraps now to preserve the warranty. So in addition to some of the pre-made solutions, I had also had customers use a local signage shop that does vinyl graphics & wrapping. They wrapped their APs for around US $30 per AP. One was a zoo that wanted the outdoor APs and external antennas to blend in. Some where camo, some were brick pattern, some just matched the wall color. So you have options there for pre-made and also perhaps search for local sign shops or someone that does vinyl car wrapping or laptop wrapping for example. If you want to DIY, the material is fairly cheap and also looks pretty simple to do (depending on how much of a perfectionist you are!)

I have seen painted accesspoints in the Europapark Rust. They are good hidden now, like camoflage.

By the way there where not Meraki but Cisco "classic" accesspoints.

 https://www.europapark.de/en
