That sounds like a great idea, I'd definitely support this for sites where auto RF just won't do.

RF Profile Access Point Tag

Hello Community,

I am curious if there is talk about being able to use Access Point Tags to specify RF profiles?

For instance, I work at a University where we want High Density in classrooms, but Low Density in offices. When we install new Access Points, I would find it convenient if I could designate SSID and RF profile tags at the same time, all on one page.

Does anyone else feel the same way or have a different opinion?

I think it could go even further. On the C9800, you can create regular expressions to define which RF profile, site tag, and policy tag should be applied to access points based on a specific condition.

For my clients, I always use the access point name in the condition to apply tags.

So, I believe Meraki could have something similar.

SSID's are already done via tag today.
However RF profiles are still applied manually.
This could indeed be easily implemented that you apply RF profiles to AP's with a certain tag.

Since I am not alone on this idea. How could I go about bringing this idea up with Meraki itself?

What you are asking for is practically already there. You can assign tags to whatever aps you want and then under the Radio settings sort or list by that tag and bulk select the listed tagged APs for assignment to a specific profile. whats the issue?

If you don't like how it is you can always ask them. log in scroll to the bottom of the dashboard in the lower right corner and click this button.
