topic AES/TKIP/WEP processing requirement in Wireless

Hi Forum,

In terms of processing requirement, which standard(AES/TKIP/WEP) is more processing intensive, requiring more resources to process?

e.g. for PDA, which one should I use, TKIP/AES for encryption and doesn't use up too much processing power. Or is that a very trivial issue?

Thanks much,

paul

Paul,

what you will find is that the WPA2/AES is more process intensive, since it is a 256bit encryption, and most end user devices do not have a cryptographic excelerator to process this.

For a PDA, my recommendation would be to use WPA w/TKIP.
