Yes. You will need the service for session management access/commnunications from the wism to the switch. And, yes, you will not see some of the configs/ports in a show run on the switch.

You can then drop the wlc management ints into the existing wifi mgmt vlan.

Don't forget to add the network into your routes for those areas that need to access it (monitoring, syslog, etc.)

Hello,

I have a few questions regarding the initial set up of the WISM in my 6509E.

I'm using this as a guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/technology/wism/technical/reference/appnote.html#wp69837

This step: ! -- Create the vlan in the Supervisor 720 to communicate with the management and

ap-manager ports of the Cisco WiSM controller.

I already have a "mgmt" vlan and IP addresses carved out. Is this supposed to be a completely separate and dedicated vlan or can I use my existing VLAN? I understand the the Service Port vlan is local and pretty much unique to just the supervisor-serviceport communications. Just not sure about the mgmt vlan.

thanks!
