Hello

I'm seeking documentation and advice regarding Cisco’s power supply standards and recommendations for deploying OEAP devices into a mobile vehicle environment.

I’ve got about 70 ambulances that need an OEAP 1810 installed with correct power supply. These need to be hot: always powered on. The ambulance inverter is set on a timer, so I’d like to utilize a hot DC power socket, but I need to know if this is a supported, or documented method before proceeding.

I haven't found anything in the Getting Started Guide, but I may have overlooked something.

Thanks for the help

The 1810 power supply that comes with the unit is a 48V 840mA 40W MAX. as long as you can meet these power requires you should be good.

I think you should look at 1815T instead of 1810. Pls check with cisco AM on product selection

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/wireless/aironet-1810-series-officeextend-access-points/index.html

Here is 1815t datasheet (it require 48V DC port to connect AIR-PWR-D)

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/aironet-1815-series-access-points/datasheet-c78-738482.html

HTH

Rasika

*** Pls rate all useful responses ***

I see from other discussions that the 1815 draws less power. It also seems that it's recommended since it will have a longer product lifespan.

It also has a drawback of not providing a console port. It requires a dongle.
