Hello

  I have a 1832i AP, looking to use it as an On-Premis ME Solution.

Present code version;

cisco AIR-AP1832I-B-K9 ARMv7 Processor rev 0 (v7l) with 997136/793580K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID ------
AP Running Image     : 8.1.10.159
Primary Boot Image   : 8.1.10.159

The problem I have is that is in CAPWAP discovery mode and while trying to change it's ap-type to Mobility Express I do not seem to have enough time to upload image from tftp before CAPWAP discovery times out ( 15 retries) and initiates a reboot of the device, I get around 72 % at most

I read similar posts regarding an 1852 in which the same problem existed and it was recommended to use the extracted image

"ap-type mobility-express tftp://192.168.50.64/ap1g4" which I attempted but also still not enough time to get the upload complete.

I do of course have "AIR-AP1830-K9-ME-8-2-100-0.zip" and previously attempted both

archive download-sw and ap-type Mobility-Express tftp://xx/AIR-AP1830-K9-ME-8-2-100-0.zip with no luck

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tom

This is a bit of a pain, I was able to do it by connecting the TFFP server to the same Gigabit switch.

The issue has been reported as a bug (CSCux72176). The given workaround is to join the AP to a WLC prior to starting the image transfer.
