How to monitor standby WLC in HA mode by SNMP

Hi, Guys,

we just put two WLCs into HA mode. and previously we can use SNMP to monitor both two WLC by it's management IPs. but now, Secondary WLC becomes standby WLC without own management IP, interesting is SERVICE port is also no SNMP. there is only one IP for redudancy management purpose.

Would you please let me know how to montior standby WLC by SNMP?

If you have configured the stateful switch in your environment

When SSO is enabled, there is no SNMP/GUI access on the service port for both the WLCs in the HA setup.

Hi @rockzhang1 I have the same problem with Cisco WLC 5508 and HA, the main controller is visible by SNMP, but the HA WLC inherits principal WLC configuration and it is not https or snmp accessible. If I find a solution I'll let you know.

Hi there, I made script to verify if HA of WLC 5508 use primary or secondary controller

Enable SNMP V2 and verify your ACL

View in snmp Mib HA :

HA SNMP : .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.198888.0.1.12.0

if == 1 WLC turn on Primary == OK

if == 2 WLC turn on Secondary == NOK

else Something went wrong == FAILED

You can monitor following details of redundant WLC after WLC 8.7 code and above.
