WLC 5508 and AP 3702 Joining Problem

Dears ,

it is my first Wireless Project and i have a problem in Discovering WLC and AP registration my case is :

i configured WLC Management interface to act as AP Manager interface , then configured static ip address on Access Point 3702 using this commands ( capwap ap ip address

capwap ap ip default-gateway

capwap ap controller ip address)

after putting WLC and Access point in the network the WLC ip is pingable and IP of access point is also pingable and WLC can ping access point and Vice versa but when i opened CLi of access point i found that it can't discover WLC and Forcing to use DHCP and access point obtained an IP Address in other subnet than WLC but they still ping each other but access point still not registered or discovered

for more information the configuration is in the attached files

Provide the info what Leo asked.... then only we can tell you the exact reason of not joining.

but do you have any suggestion and how disable forcing DHCP usage in access point

to disable DHCP IP on AP:

debug capwap console cli
Conf t
interface BVI1
no ip address dhcp

The code your running on the WLC does not support the 3700's.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html

You need a min of v7.6.100.0 which is deferred. I would suggest you use any of the latest v8.x. v8.2 is out now if you want to give that a try.
