This will depend entirely on what firmware is loaded in the WLC 2504.

Go HERE & browse through the Release Notes of your choice. Then scroll down to Table 1 and see if the AP is supported.

I have just bought a bundle of wlc 2504 running version 8.1and 2 ap 1530 and they are compatible , in my case I have some ap 1242 and I have to downgrade my wlc to version 8 or 7.4
