Thank you, this resolved my problem.

But, I am very disappointed that Cisco REQUIRED me to purchase a service contract before they would allow me to download the latest version of software. This was a brand new device, just purchased, and they would not provide the latest software for free. TERRIBLE business practice! I even escalated my anger to a supervisor on the phone and they would not budge on this policy. I certainly will not consider Cisco for my next purchase.

Hi TomSorry to hear about

Hi Tom

Sorry to hear about that

When purchasing WLC, always check what software version comes with it. When we place the order with Cisco, BoM should include the software version required. So whoever order on behalf of you may put the 7.4.x as the software version.

HTH

Rasika

Talk to the authorized Cisco

Talk to the authorized Cisco vendor/reseller and ask them if they can provide you with the software.

There are some vendors/resellers who have access to the firmware and don't mind the request.

Well with any other vendor, they have a matrix of what code supports what hardware. Vendors also require you to have some support in order to download code. Just in case you decide to keep going with Cisco, here is a matrix that will show you what's compatible.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html

Please rate helpful post and Cisco Support Community will donate to Kiva

Scotty
