Best approach to replace AP and WLC

Gents,

I have AP 1042 | 1832 and WLC 2504 which will be replaced by AP 9120AX and WLC 9800-L.

Can any one of you recommend the best approach to replace the infrastructure with minimum impact.

Hi,

I am hpoing that you will remove all old APs and replace with the new ones.

1. First make sure that all the old APs are configured with Primary WLC IP and that should be 2504..

2. Configure new WLC with diff mgmt interface in same network.

3. Connect new APs in Network

4. Once all new AP joins the network ..you can replace all old ones.

If you want to use old APs"1832" then they may need to download new software from 9800 and reboot, then join to new wlc.
