If you want to capture more data from the user, you will need to use an external web server to do that. I have had a couple of my customers built a web page just as a passthrough, but created field that the users must enter before they can hit the "Accept" button. The data that was entered was put into a database for them to use. You don't have to just have it as a passthrough if you don't want, you can make them enter a username and password that will be sent back to the WLC for authentication, but you just have to make sure you keep the java the same when you go from the internal to using the external web server.

Hi,

Just a quick question to see if anyone has this working as I an not sure if it is even possible.

At present I have a WLC5508 as a guest anchor in a DMZ and a web-auth passthrough WLAN configured. There is a custom web bundle providing a terms and conditions page.

We want to start to capture the minimum data from a user that logs onto the guest wireless ( email address ) and would like to use the check email function on the controller - BUT - at the same time move from using the web bundle locally hosted splashpage on the controller to an external web server provided splashpage / walled garden.

From my understanding not sure that this is possible as the email check function is only valid in passthrough I think.

Hopefully someone has already tried this and either got it working or know it definitely doesn't work.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Is it possible to implement?

Thanks.
