Migrating Access Points from Catalyst 3650 IOS-XE to CT-5520 Aire-OS

Hi,

I have a client with access points registered with a Catalyst 3650 IOS-XE wireless controller and would like to re-register these access points with a new CT-5520 wireless controller running Aire-OS. Is there a procedure for doing this?

Thanks,

do you want to continue to keep the AP on same vlan as the management interface on 3650 or you can move them to a different vlan ?

Hi Pete,

Simply put those AP onto another vlan other than wireless management vlan of 3650. As long as AP learn about 5520 controller mgmt IP via new vlan (DHCP optoin 43 or DNS) it should able to register to it.

HTH
