Which IP is your captive portal using? I suppose it's NOT 1.1.1.1?

I've got some Android version 9 devices that are not opening the captive portal page on our public WLAN. Once connected to the SSID, it prompts that a sign-in is required, but it then opens a page to "connectivitycheck.gstatic.com", displays a blank screen and fails to complete the webauth.

I've read that I can create DNS entries for "connectivitycheck.gstatic.com" to point to a non-routable IP address to force Android to redirect to the captive portal, but I'm not sure how to do this in the WLC.

Are IOS devices and Windows devices being affected?

There was an update to Chrome that required the splash page HTML files to be updated to fix. Can remember the bug ID

Avoid using 8.8.111.0.
Upgrade to 8.8.120.0 and see if it works.
