Hi,

I would recommend leaving the access points on dhcp and use long leases or reservations. Also enable conflict detection on the dhcp server to avoid duplicate addresses.

8.0.110.0 is deferred code. Try upgrading to 8.0.121.0

Thanks

Access points not using static addresses

Hi all,

We have a large number of 2702i's and 3602e's running lightweight code level 8.0.110.0 and connecting to a AIR-CAP2504-CT-K9 throughout all of our branches. Occasionally, one or two of them will drop their static address, and try to use a DHCP address. This has caused a few duplicate addresses before, and can be fixed by restarting the access point through any means (GUI, unplugging, or shutting the PoE port). Once the access point restarts, it has it's statically assigned address again.

Has anybody seen this before, and know of a way to stop it? We already changed the DHCP scope on the VLAN that they connect to, to try to stop duplicate addressing.

Regards,

Tyler.
