      <title>AP 2602 Error Accessing Flash during Initialization</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We got many 2602 AP running under Controller mode. Every night Cisco Energywise turn the power off to these AP's and next morning turn it back on. But randomly in a month few AP fails to come back. When I check on console I see error - The system has encountered an error accessing flash during initializion. I re-inialize the flash using flash_init command and it boot's up perfectly without any problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;AP Model - AIR-CAP2602I-Z-K9&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;AP Image - ap3g2-k9w8-tar.152-4.JB6&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;WLC SW Version - 7.6.130.0&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Error Details:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;IOS Bootloader - Starting system.&lt;BR /&gt;flash is writable&lt;BR /&gt;FLASH CHIP:&amp;nbsp; Numonyx Mirrorbit (0089)&lt;BR /&gt;Xmodem file system is available.&lt;BR /&gt;Error accessing flash at 0xe8000000 with 32-bit reads [0xbfaaaaaa != 0xffaa6aaa]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The system has encountered an error accessing flash during initializion.&amp;nbsp; The following commands will&lt;BR /&gt;initialize the flash file system and finish&lt;BR /&gt;loading the operating system software:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; flash_init&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; ether_init&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; tftp_init&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; boot&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;ap: flash_init&lt;BR /&gt;Initializing Flash...&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: Checking block 0...bad block number (-21846)&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: erasing block 0...done.&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: 67 files, 9 directories&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: 0 orphaned files, 0 orphaned directories&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: Total bytes: 31997952&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: Bytes used: 21580800&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: Bytes available: 10417152&lt;BR /&gt;flashfs[0]: flashfs fsck took 23 seconds.&lt;BR /&gt;...done Initializing Flash.&lt;BR /&gt;Boot Sector Filesystem (bs:) installed, fsid: 3&lt;BR /&gt;Parameter Block Filesystem (pb:) installed, fsid: 4&lt;BR /&gt;ap:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any idea why this happens, 5-7 AP fails every month.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sakun&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 14.399998664856px;"&gt;Said who? &amp;nbsp;I've got &amp;nbsp;fleet of OLDER model AP1140 and I don't have any maintenance contract on them but I can RMA them if they are faulty. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 14.399998664856px;"&gt;AP2602i/e model AP is covered under Cisco's Limited Lifetime Warranty. &amp;nbsp;If you can prove to Cisco Entitlements Team that you are the original purchaser of the AP you can RMA the AP.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
