Username dot1x Authentication on WLC

Hi Guys,

In WLC, we have ssid with dot1x authentication, it work perfectly.

If i check in menu monitor > client, i find, user login with different username.

For example user might have:

user

domain\user

user@domain

host/computername.domain

What is different between that user name ?

It all depends on how the user login.

For example if the user type their credentials setup their SSID authentication profile they can login with their user account in the formats below:
user
domain\user
user@domain (this can also be for certificate based authentication)

AD will be able to do lookups with this information.

If you see “host/computername.domain” the user is authenticating with their domain machine name and not their username.

So depending on how their profiles have been setup on their end device it will reflect what you see on the WLC.
