I have used m0n0wall as a capture portal for this purpose, although mainly to present an Acceptable Use Policy and other information to the users. It is free and has other features that you may find useful.

http://www.m0n0.ch/wall/

Here is a link to the captive portal RADIUS functionality: http://doc.m0n0.ch/handbook/faq-extraradius.html

I would like to set up a wireless system much like one finds at hotels, airports etc. You connect to the wireless network. Bring up a browser and enter a access code to use the system. Any info would be helpfull.

Thanks

you can use the access points to be used as a local radius server or you can install a RADIUS server such as MS-IAS or Cisco ACS. That way, only authorized users will be able to access your network.
