topic VLAN Access on AP1100 in Wireless

Have set up 2 VLANs on the AP but can only access the one that has it's SSID broadcast in the beacon. If the VLAN does not have it's SSID broadcast it is not seen by the laptop (tried 3 different one and a PDA). Can swap which SSID is broadcast and each works OK with full IP connectivity to the core network but only when the SSID is broadcast, however the one that is not broadcast can't be connected to.

Have set it up as per the documentation for the AP1100. Any help and advice much appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve

Can you configure SSID on the PDA? If not, you have to wait for the next IOS release.

You cannot broadcast multiple SSID in the current release. We will add a feature to broadcast multiple SSID in the next IOS release.

You can configure the SSID for a preferred network on the PDA as well as on the XP client but there is no connection unless the SSID is broadcast in the beacon.

Your point that the next IOS release will allow multiple SSID broadcast is all good and well. I don't want the SSIDs broadcast though (only one, the "Guest VLAN") how do I get client to connect to a VLAN without the SSID broadcast ( the SSID is set in the preferred network).

Cheers for any help.
