I'm having issues with a newly created AP group. There will only be one AP in this group and will be placed at a small branch office. I've successfully created the WLC interface, SSID etc and can connect to the SSID, obtain an IP address from that VLAN and communicate with the rest of the network. However, this new SSID is being broadcast through all of my current AP's instead of one. This AP is currently in FlexConnect mode. Here's what I've done thus far:

1. Created a new group in "AP Groups" section.

2. Mapped the correct SSID and VLAN interface to this newly created group.

3. Moved to the "AP tab" and selected my AP.

4. Under "Wireless" section, I selected my AP and assigned it to the AP group under the "Advanced" tab.

No other AP is in this group, yet every AP is broadcasting this SSID. Additionally, when I connect to this SSID, I get placed on another AP even though my new AP is sitting right beside me. The LED is also blinking green, but the AP is connected to the controller. Perhaps it's not broadcasting anything? Thanks for your help!

Yes. I did read a rule about that, but I guess I misinterpreted it. Would this explain the blinking green LED as well?

All SSIDs with WLAN ID from 1 to 16 will go into the default-group AP group. If an AP does NOT have an AP group will always broadcast the default-group AP group.

Put your new SSID in an AP group starting from WLAN ID 17.

Would this explain the blinking green LED as well?
