Wireless controller: can it use Dynamic Interface to discover APs?

Does the controller only use the management interface to discover and control APs?

In my case I created a dynamic Interface on the controller and it's in a different network than the management interface. The AP (which gets IP from a DHCP server) is in the same network with the dynamic interface. However the AP can't find the controller...

Is there anyway to make the AP be able to find the controller through the dynamic interface or it's totally impossible?

The dynamic interfaces are tied to the wlans for client access and the APs associate through the ap manager interfaces.
