I have the same problem on a 350 Series that was upgraded from VXWorks to IOS.

try this->

Add this config to your radio interface. (Probably G radio on 1200 series Access points)

 dot11 extension aironet

note that documentation on this config command says that non-Cisoc clients may misinterpret the extension.

Does anyone know why the AP 1100 and 1200 models do not display the client type or Name when examining the associations?

Is there a way to enable this feature?

I have the same situation. when I was using cisco 350 cards in my laptops we see the workstation name and the Device type. We moved to built in Intel 2200BG cards and now the Device Type shows up as 4800-radio (used to be 350-client) and the Name is now the same as the Hostname of the Access Point.

-Karl
