AP in flexconnect can reach radius server via controller when controller is up and reachable via WAN link. When controller goes down AP can still access the same radius server(if accessiable) via AP connected switch and its gateway (Remember, it require AP to be configured as NAS on Radius).

local auth on flexconnect/hreap AP supports only eap fast and leap mehcanism.

Good Morning,

I was wondering if it is possible to setup local authenticaiton on a WLAN as a tiertiary method for authentication? After all Radius servers are deemed unreachable will it use local authentication to the controller (or AP in FLexConnect)?

Thanks

You can, but it just seems like it wouldn't wokr very well since you would have to have the identical username and password that the client is passing to the WLC.

Thanks,

Scott

Help out other by using the rating system and marking answered questions as "Answered"
