When only utilizing 'g' mode, your data rate will be 54Mbps. As default, b data rates may be set to required, which is considered mixed mode. You will want to ensure that b data rates are disabled and that your g rates are required for g only mode.

I have two Cisco WLAN adapters, CB21AG and PI21AG. I would like to setup a 802.11g (2.4Ghz 54Mbps) (in adhoc mode) connection between two computers. However the connection is always established at 11Mbps. (Computers are close ( 3-4 ft), and only the 2.4Ghz 54Mbps option is selected in ADU’s profile selection menu.) Isn’t there a 54Mbps 802.11g capability in the ad-hoc mode.

Also I need to change some parameters which were available in ACU but not in ADU. I would like to control RTS-CTS and fragmentation thresholds. Also I want to manually adjust link rate rather than automatic one. Is there another utility that I can change these parameters. Does any one know the default values for the above parameters?

Thank you.
