1020APs keep disassociating from controller

We have three controllers. Controller 3 is a backup and has no APs. I recently rebooted Controller 1. Now, the 1020 APs that are associated with Controller 2 are getting disassociated then re-associated to the same controller after a couple of minutes and seem to stay up after that. The 1242s that are associated with Controller 2 haven't disassociated yet. Is there something going on with the 1020s or is this something to do with me rebooted Controller 1? Concerned about this behavior.

Hi Pat,

A quick way to confirm what is going on from the controller's perspective would be to get the following debugs:

debug mac address
debug lwapp event enable
debug lwapp error enable
debug pm pki

This should at least give us a first idea of the issue.

Thanks for getting back. It seems that once they drop they aren't dropping again. And I really don't know which one is going to drop so, I can't debug a specific one. I know that they are all 1020s and they are only on one controller. I'm wondering if maybe they do this after a specific amount of time (perhaps a bug) or maybe they are renewing their lease but, they shouldn't drop for renewing their leases? I'm going to dig a little deeper. Please share any other ideas. Thanks, Pat.

What is the trigger to cause the 1020 APs to disassociate then?
From what I understand on your initial message, it looks like this happens when Controller 1 is rebooted: if so, this shouldn't impact Controller 2 where the APs are registered.

If we could find a specific trigger for the issue, it would make things easier to collect those debugs.
