Disconnect wireless when docking computer?

Is there any way to drop the wireless connection automaticlly when a client docks a computer into a wired dock. The wireless radio and wired port are on different VLAN's. I do not want them to be multihomed. I can use different profiles if they bring it up fresh but I am concerned with clients returning from conference rooms to their desks and just docking without rebooting or manually disconnecting. Currently using 1130 a,b,g AP's, WLSE 2.9, ACS Radius servers. Windows XP Pro service pack 1 or 2 (depends on the client)

Thanks in advance!

I came across this in one of my readings on the net. You can use this utility for windows 2000 and XP.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q311272

The DevCon utility is a command line utility that acts as an alternative to Device Manager. Using DevCon, you can enable, disable, restart, update, remove, and query individual devices or groups of devices.

Many / most laptops keep two profiles: "Docked" and "Undocked" - I believe that if you disabled the wireless adapter in the "docked" profile, then it would be dropped / disabled once the laptop switches profiles.

I don't use a dock anymore, so I can't confirm it, but that's my recollection.

Good Luck

Scott
