Hi,

I have a AP1100 running 12.2(11) code. This ap is configured as basic as they get, no wep, no filters. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 with a built in wireless NIC. The laptop is running W2K pro. the laptop will associate then deassociate with the AP but will not link up. another words w2k shows the lan interface as not connected. I am also seeing alot of Header CRC errors when running show interfaces dot11Radio0 statistics under transmit.

I also see this when telneted into the AP:

00:06:42: %DOT11-4-MAXRETRIES: Packet to client 0002.2d23.703e reached max retries, remove the client

00:06:42: %DOT11-6-DISASSOC: Interface Dot11Radio0, Deauthenticating Station 0002.2d23.703e Reason: Previous authentication no longer valid

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Frank

Does the built in wirless card have a application that will show you signal strength, SNR, Max no. of retires, etc ?

On the AP side try modifying the No. of Retires, I think the default is 36, try to increase it.

Also try to determine the Noise level in your environment by using the Radio Diagnosis.

"Packet to client 0002.2d23.703e reached max retries" this suggests that the AP is not getting a response form the laptop.

Signalstrength is excellent. The client software tells me that it is transmitting but not recieving anything.
