Can a RAP fallback to a MAP?

Hello all,

If the wired connection of a Root Access Point(Cisco 1522AG) goes down, can a RAP fall to a MAP role, find a parent and still offer client connectivity?

Rares,

Yes. If a RAP looses it's ethernet connection, it will fallback to MAP mode, and try to find a parent across the 5GHz.

Is there any documentation for this feautre? I've searched through Cisco documentation and did not found anything about this feature.

It might be in the MESH deployment guide, but it's been a feature for years now and may only be in some older docs

I am already aware about the fact that the RAP is going to fall to MAP in case wired connectivity problems. However, this is not documented anywhere. I tried to look for many documents (deployment and design guides, WLC config guide and mobility design guide) and it is mentioned nowhere that RAPs fall back to MAPs when wired connection fails.

Should there be any documentation bugs opened for this?
