Hello,

I have two WLC4402 at two customer sites and both of them are experiencing this error and I am wondering what it exactly means. I've read how to remove them from the traps log, by removing the tick under management -> SNMP -> Security -> Decrypt WEP decrypt errors, but I still would like to know a bit more about what the error means and if I should be very concerned.

Both WLC4402 are running 6.0.188 with the 5.2.157 ER boot loader. The error occurs with WPA and WPA2 - Both PSK and dot1x.

Access Points used are 1142 and 1131.

Error:

Decrypt errors occurred for client [CLIENT MAC ADRESS] using [CYPHER SUITE] key on [IF] interface of AP [AP-MAC]

The frequency of the error is about 1-2 each minute.

Does it mean the frame has become corrupt during transfer, I mean - I would be surprised if a client decided to try a different PSK than the one configured. 😃

Any input on this would be appreciated.

Cheers

-G
