What is the data rates that are configured to basic on the AP radio? Try setting the data rates to throughput setting. This should provide a consistent performance. For information on configuring the radio data rates read the document available at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080606d4a.html#wp1101903

I just installed a network with Cisco 12xx access points, and I am getting user complaints that their signal strength is fluctuating from very low to very high and the connection speed is also fluctuating from 54 Mbps, to 11 Mbps, to 1 Mbps and so on. I have seen this happen in other wireless installs with other access points, It has just been a while since this has happend and I can't remember what the cause or the fix was. Any Ideas?
