Hi,

We have a scenario where 5508 with HA is deployed in main HQ. This WLC is connected to Cisco 3750 through trunk port.

There are multiple WLANs running and serving for HQ. Now there is a requirement where 10x 1602i WAPs are being bought by remote office (which has layer 3 connectivity to HQ) but the requirement is to connect them through flexconnect. The remote site has its own DHCP and Distribution & access switches.

I have studies several CISCO published docs but cant get an example as of my scenario. The firmware on 5508 is 8.

As per my understanding, we have to configure

1. a vlan on HQ Distribution Switch let say 1078 and don't need to create its SVI here. This vlan should be allowed on trunk connected to WLC 5508.

2. On WLC, we have to configure the interface with 10.1.78.2/24 and mention the dhcp here.

3. Now create WLAN and enable FlexConnect Local Switching & FlexConnect Local Auth.

4. Now go to AP which will be installed at Remote. Change it to flexconnect mode and under flexconnect mode map VLAN & WLAN mapping.

5. Now at Remote Office Distribution we will create same vlan 1078 and create it SVI 10.1.78.1/24

6. Now all the WAPs will be assigned an IP from some other VLAN.

7. For users we will create a dhcp let say 10.1.78.50 to 254 on MS DHCP.

Actually i have to visit the remote site and it will be great if i go there with things in hand. Your prompt response is required on this.

Also if someone have a proper detailed documents with examples, please do share it with me.

thanks in advance.
