CDMA Connectivity

We have mpls (leased line) as a primary link & CDMA connectivity as a backup installed on a router .

When my primary link goes down router won't shift to cdma automatically i have to initiate connection then

it starts pinging (Ping test ip from end user). I also tried making CDMA bacup of serial interface (Backup command) it also won't work.

Current configuration on my end router for CDMA

chat-script

ip address negotiated

en ppp

dialer in-band

dialer-group 1

ppp chap hostname

ppp chap password

ppp ipcp dns request

access-list 2 permit any

dialer-list 1 protocol ip list 2

there are 2 default routes

0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serrial int (Pointing to serial default ad)

0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 cellular int 50 (Pointing to cellular with higher ad)

there is one more static route to check the CDMA connectivity

10.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 cellular int (Static with default Ad) this ip we use to test connect initial connectivity.

Is there any other configuration by which it can shift automatically on CDMA OR ther should be any change in this configuration .

Hi Pushpak,

If you test the CDMA link independently, does it come up?

What I mean is:

- the CDMA link works fine, but you need help to configure it as backup

- the backup solution does not work because CDMA link does not come up?

Can you please attach the config without editing it? E.g. the chatscript is cut

Can you try these steps:

- remove "transport output none" from the line

- enable "debug chat", "debug dialer", "debug ppp nego".

- start ping traffic that triggers the cellular interface and collect the logs

Once you got the confirmation that the CDMA link works, you can use the usual method to configure dialer interfaces as backup, see for example:
