topic Different Gateways on Vlans? in Wireless

Hi,

I need to add a new SSID/VLAN to my existing access points. These already have 2 SSID/VLANs on them and are working fine.

My problem is that for the new SSID/VLAN I need to use 802.1x authentication and for that to work the Access Point needs to talk to a Radius server, which is not on the Access Points Subnet. The Access point will need to talk to the Gateway on the new SSID/VLAN, which is different to the existing Gateway, used for the existing SSID/VLANs on the Access Point.

Is there any way of adding a new Gateway (IP address?) for the new Vlan, like you can with a switch?

Cheers,

Jen.

All you have to do is create sub-interfaces on the router and create VLANs on the switch and the APs. Then you can do 802.1x for the SSID with the RADIUS server on a different subnet.
