CUCM AXL device parameter not accepted after upgrade 11.5 to 12.5

We use a AXL script to provision devices for users. After upgrading CUCM from version 11.5 to 12.5, the script stopped working. We found out that the following line causes the problem :

Parameter :certificateOperation

value :Install/Upgrade

According to the latest AXL API documentation this parameter has not changed since CUCM 11.5 and the syntax is correct. However the parameter is not accepted. When we remove this specific line from the script, all works fine.

Issue occurs for every device typ (tab,bot,csf). Attached the AXL log file (renamed to txt extension).

The option is needed to force installation of a certificate on a new device.

Any ideas what causes our problem ?

Looks like the trace log doesn't have enough detail to provide the request/response. If you can provide the full XML request/response that may be helpful, and/or increase the AXL log level:

Based on your description of the problem, I suspect a possible defect or config corner-case - probably the best course would be to go ahead and open a case with DevNet dev support, where they can bring in API engineering to investigate if needed: https://developer.cisco.com/site/support/
