topic APIC-EM v1.6 Cloud Connectivity in Controllers

Hellow Fellow Networkers,

Configuration of APIC-EM requires that the first cluster member communicates with a test Cisco telemetry server whose hostname and IP address have changed since the software was published. Cisco TAC recommends to raise a Service Request allowing them to modify /opt/cisco/grapevine/lib/python2.7/site-packages/grapevine/common/Constants.py before building the cluster. In my case, we needed to disassemble the cluster and modify each appliance in turn.

This allows the subsequent execution of Config_Wizard not to question the use of a proxy server. However, the post implementation APIC-EM GUI throws up a persistent message saying “Controller is unable to reach the cloud – Configure Proxy”. APIC-EM is now trying to converse with another set of telemetry services the details about which we know nothing.

The embedded Active Advisor also requires cloud connectivity; but connectivity details remain a mystery. In order to connect APIC-EM with the cloud my customer needs to proxy white list IP addresses and preferably URL to internet resources targeted not only by the APIC-EM VIP, but also by the management addresses of each cluster member.

Our attempts to acquire the missing information through numerous Cisco channels are fallen on fallow ground. Help from this informative community would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in anticipation.
