I have several 4300 and 4400 routers that were purchased before we decided to purchase DNA. Can I add the routers and update IOS without the license?

Cisco ISR, ASR, and CSR Series licenses

Only ASR-1000-X, ASR-1000-HX, ASR1006, ASR1006-X, ASR1009-X, ISR 4461, ISR 4451, ISR 4431, ISR 4351, ISR 4331, ISR 4321, and CSR 1000v support Cisco SD-Access.

ISR and CSR require an AppX license or Cisco DNA licenses to be able to deploy Cisco SD-Access. Choose only hardware PIDs with the “-AX” suffix. ASR requires either AIS or Advanced Enterprise Services license to be able to deploy Cisco SD-Access.

No additional add-on licenses are required.
