Ditto to what Philip said. There are no differences. They function API wise just like MR access points.

Hello Cisco Meraki Community,I’m looking to better understand whether the Cisco Catalyst access points CW9162 and CW9172, when managed through the Meraki Dashboard, expose the same set of Meraki Dashboard API objects as native Meraki MR access points.

My current understanding is that the CW9162 and CW9172 are "Meraki enabled" Catalyst devices, rather than fully native Meraki MR access points. Because of this architectural difference, I suspect they may not provide full API parity with Meraki MR models and may expose only a subset of the available API objects.

I’d appreciate confirmation from the community or Cisco on whether this assumption is correct, and if there is any documentation outlining the specific API differences between Meraki‑enabled Catalyst APs and native Meraki MR devices. So far I haven't found anything in current Cisco documentation.

Thank you so much for any clarification or insight 🙂

Once the APs have joined the Meraki Dashboard, there are no API differences that I am aware of.

The APs themselves don't provide the API. The Meraki Cloud provides the API.

This is the general API:
https://developer.cisco.com/meraki/api-v1/

Most of what you're looking for is under Products/Wireless.
