What do you mean by "This should be fixed."? Fixed by whom?

OpenDNS is at heart a DNS service, and all of it's blocking is based off of domain names only. It doesn't work with anything else, including websites, web pages, URL's, image, content, or anything else that is not only a domain name.

As such, as you've observed it can block nsfw.reddit.com

reddit.com/r/nsfw is not a domain name, although it contains a domain name. Therefore there is no way to block this address.

Block reddit.com, then whitelist the specific sub domains you want to allow.

Except that it does a redirect from sub.reddit.com to www.reddit.com/r/sub/.
