How can I get yesterday's IP address as I am now away from the network and opendns has automatically changed my IP through update installed on my laptop. Does it save IP history?

You can't, or at least not by "restoring" past history.

The only way to update your IP address on OpenDNS is from a device that's currently using that public IP address. That could be a computer, laptop, tablet, router, or many other devices. You'll either have to do it when you get home, or use some other device on the network to update it to whatever your current address is.

The real problem is that you shouldn't have the Updater installed on a mobile device and automatically updating from it. When you connect to another network not only will you lose all protection for your home network, you are effectively trying to claim someone else's network as your own. At a minimum you need to disable automatic updating on your laptop, if not doing your updates from a different device such as a desktop computer or a router.

In case you use the official OpenDNS Updater, doesn't this provide an update history? (I believe you have to right-click the systray icon to access it.)

I just looked. The Updater does has an updates history, but it's basically a log file. It doesn't have the capability to roll back to an old address, which wouldn't do any good if the device that the updater was on was no longer using that address

No, it cannot "roll back", of course, because the update request must anyway come from the IP address you're going to update to. Your only chance to do this is to remotely login to your home network and do the update manually from there, e.g. at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/.

You only said: "How can I get yesterday's IP address", this leaving the impression you just wanted to know your yesterday's IP address. You got what you were asking for with the history. You now know your yesterday's IP address...
The update to your current IP address must come out of your network, the one you're going to update.
